Important news, Inspiration and other Initiatives
First, a big thanks to all of you. I was pleasantly surprised by the many reactions, even from distant countries, following the announcement about my series of vlogs concerning my modular Hammond. It is heartwarming to note that there is a lot of interest in learning more about this phenomenon. An instrument with, for me as well, still many unexpected possibilities in sound and expression. We are working hard behind the scenes to bring structure to the many topics I would like to cover and the recordings of musical examples that support this. A lot of work, but a lot of fun to do and you will see the results soon. So, thanks for all the support and positive responses!
Moving on to important news: November 14 is a very important day for me. This day marks the start of many initiatives that will finally become visible on this date. First of all, there is the release of our new vinyl LP from the New Hammond Sound Project - with the digital version available on all streaming platforms - and the live launch of the band including our interactive visuals at the Energiehuis in Dordrecht. It is also the start of the New Organ Sound Records label, on which young makers and performers will appear alongside NHSP. One of them is former student and protégé Boye Ingwersen, who will also present his brand-new Hammond duo on the evening of the 14th. That evening we kick off D-Sound, a collaboration with Kunstmin in the D-Sound series and more initiatives - more about that later.
The audio tracks for the LP have now been sent to pressing plant Deepgrooves where they will produce the vinyl and the beautiful piece of artwork that was designed by Job van Nuenen in a completely eco-friendly way. I am also happy with the distribution deal with Coast to Coast that will bombard record stores and hi-fi stores and represent international distribution.
The international Hammond queen Rhoda Scott, my original Hammond inspiration, has written beautiful liner notes for the LP, from which I spontaneously got red cheeks... Of course, I am not going to give away too much about this, so make sure you are there the 14th.
Hope to see you all on November 14!
