MARCH 19
This night is all about beats and turntables. Turntables were originally used for playing music but through hip hop these devices became the creative centers of new music. First, by scratching and mixing existing music, then by using music fragments as separate beats and input. These days, the craftsmanship of turntablists is even linked to the creation of completely new sounds. Kypski is a great and innovative example of this.
Recording music and having it on site as a basis for a live composition is a growing phenomenon. Binkbeats does this in a completely unique and virtuoso manner - as is also recognized by an international scene of producers and makers. It is time that we became acquainted with his music in Dordrecht as well.

Musician and host Carlo de Wijs and Kunstmin take you on an inspiring journey through the world of music and technology during four evenings.
De Wijs is the ideal man in the right place for this. In Machine 3 in the Energiehuis this renowned Hammond organist, expert in instrument and sound design, with Dordrecht as his home base, will share his experiences with the world of sounds and visuals. He will also invite performers and artists who, like him, are making connections between music and technology.
The D-Sound evenings consist of performances but also pay attention to the story behind the performance, the inspiration, the search and the research. Watch, listen and enjoy. Active participation is also encouraged. A new and interesting music concept for young and older generations, enthusiasts and the curious.
